Silai — Made to Order

Cut to your measurements, finished by hand

Every piece on this site can be stitched to you instead of to a size chart. Send ten numbers on WhatsApp — or a shirt that already fits — and the tailor who cuts your cloth is the one who finishes it.

The process

Four steps, and none of them is a fitting room

What we stitch

From an everyday kurta to a bridal shirt

Prices are for stitching. Bring your own cloth or buy it with the order — either way the charge below is the whole of it.

A FEEZEE piece cut to measure

What we need from you

Ten numbers, and the rest is our problem

Measure over a fitted shirt, not over loose clothes, and keep the tape flat. If any of this sounds like guesswork, skip it — send us a garment that fits and we will take every number off it ourselves.

Choose the finish

Every seam on the piece is a decision you get to make

Say as much or as little as you like. Anything you leave to us we cut the way the design was drawn.

Stitching charges

What it costs, before you ask

No quotation to wait for on a standard cut. These are the rates the workshop runs on, and they are the same in July as in Ramzan.

What comes back to us

What if I do not know how to measure myself?

Post us a shirt and a trouser that already fit you well. We take every measurement off the garment on our own table, note it against your name, and send the pieces back with your order. After the first time we have your numbers on file, so the next order needs nothing but a design.

Can you stitch cloth I already own?

Yes. Send the unstitched suit to our workshop and we will cut it to the design you choose. Stitching is charged at the rates in the table above; there is nothing extra for using your own cloth.

How exact is the fit the first time?

For a kurta or a two-piece, almost always right on the first cut. For anything fitted through the waist — an anarkali, a bridal shirt — we cut with a small allowance in the side seams so it can be taken in against your body rather than against a tape.

What happens if it does not fit?

You send it back and we alter it. Alterations are free for as long as you own the piece, and we cover return postage on the first one. Nothing about a made-to-order piece is final at delivery.

Do you deliver outside Pakistan?

We ship to the UAE, the UK, Saudi Arabia, the US and most of Europe, usually in five to seven days once the piece leaves the workshop. Overseas orders are prepaid; inside Pakistan you can pay cash at the door.

Can I copy a design I have seen somewhere else?

Send the picture. If it is a cut we can hold to honestly we will quote it and say what will differ; if the embroidery on it is a mill print we cannot match, we will tell you that before you pay rather than after.

How far ahead should I book a wedding piece?

Six weeks for bridal, four for a heavy formal. That leaves room for two fittings and a week of slack, which is what stops a shaadi order becoming a rush job.

One message is the whole of it

Send us the five things on the right and we will come back the same day with a price, a date and anything we still need to know. Nothing is charged until the cut is agreed.
